Christmas in a hive
'Twas the night before Christmas, when all though the hive
Not a creature was stirring, are they even alive?
Empty honeycomb makes the cluster despair,
They hope that Jingle Bee soon will be there;
The larva and pupa all snug in their cells,
Dreams of royal jelly and bee bread's sweet smell.
Queen in her castle and nurse bees attending,
These are cold nights that seem never ending.
When up on the roof, there arose such a clatter,
Smoke at the door, can you see what's the matter?
Bright light and cold breeze in our house does appear,
A white-suited monster is looking in here.
He is chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laugh when I see him, in spite of myself.
He speaks not a word; but goes straight to his labor,
Looking and checking, with his blasted smoke maker.
His actions are swift to avoid chilling trouble,
Sugar and pollen to the hive he does shuttle.
Honey in frames to the cluster he brings,
Fresh food for the bees to last until Spring
The roof is now back and the darkness restored,
But the hive knows Jingle Bee visits once more.
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night."

Chemicals banned everywhere but United States
“Does it get more corrupt than this?
A corporation is allowed to rip the heart of America’s agricultural system (honeybees are ESSENTIAL for pollination) and not one of the scumbags in Congress or the empty suits in the White House are doing a thing about it. We don’t have a government in this country. We have a gang of self-serving thieves.”

Sign petition to ban the use of neonicotinoid pesticides and save the bees!!
Interested in learning how you can help save the honey bees?
Quietly, globally, billions of bees are dying, threatening our crops and food. But a global ban of one group of pesticides could save bees from extinction.
Four European countries have begun banning these poisons, and some bee populations are recovering. But chemical companies are lobbying hard to keep all killer pesticides on the market. A global outcry now for a ban in the US and EU, where debate is raging, could provoke a total ban and a ripple effect around the world.
Let’s build a giant global buzz calling for these dangerous chemicals to be outlawed in the US and EU until and unless they are proved to be safe. Sign the petition to save bees and our crops.
